Lonely are the brave
Jean-Max Causse and Jean-Marie Rodon were both executives in the same insurance firm. One dreamt of cinema, the other of independence. In 1966, Jean-Max convinced Jean-Marie that together they would buy ´Studio Action´, which very quickly became ´Action Lafayette´. Scheduling American films here, which at the time was a most unconventional move, rapidly gained them success and notoriety, and Action Lafayette became the temple of the New Wave. 35 years on, Jean-Max Causse and Jean-Marie Rodon are still at the head of Action cinemas (3 cinemas to date). With us, they discuss the economic, political and artistic choices which punctuated their career. Through their personal story, a page in cinema´s history books is written.
