Not a day goes by without us hearing about the relentless melting of some 200 000 glaciers around the four corners of the globe. Global warming is no longer a threat but very much a reality. In 30 years, ice melt has accelerated by 65%. That’s 300 billion tonnes of ice melting every year. There is no longer any doubt that the glaciers are going to disappear.
But what is going on in these changing lands? What life forms are taking the glaciers’ place? How is man adapting?
By exploring three rapidly changing glaciers, the series tells how the transformation of these ice giants profoundly changes landscapes, reveals new ecosystems, and obliges mankind to adapt to these unprecedented changes.
