Boris Vian, A Life of Jazz
Running Time: 60'
/ Format: HD
/ Available versions: FR | EN
This film is the only “musical portrait” ever made on this writer and musician, on the 50th anniversary of his death and with rare footage, by the director of “Callas Assoluta”, the most sold French documentary in 2008, all around the world. Although Boris Vian is usually known as a writer, music really did play a major role in his life. Boris Vian learnt very young that he could be struck down by a heart attack any time. Jazz became the rhythm of his life. He played in jazz clubs on the boulevard Saint Germain and wrote and performed his own songs. The film was praised by critics as Philippe Kohly’s best documentary ever.
