Asbestos has killed, is killing and will carry on killing. Yet this slaughter could have been avoided, we've known for a long time that this material is carcinogenic, thus mortal. But its use has been authorized, if not encouraged, for years. 

Why? How has such a public health scandal been possible? How has the asbestos' lobby been stronger than the State? and what do the inhabitants of countries where the use of asbestos is still authorized think of it?
